Delaware City Day 2023 is set to take place on Saturday, October 7th!
Ever since its inception in 1980, Delaware City Day has stood as a beacon of unity and joy, a day where families come together to celebrate the rich history and the quintessential “small town America” vibe that Delaware City embodies. Nestled along the riverfront, this historic town boasts architecture that tells tales of yesteryears, fostering a deep connection to its roots and encouraging the ongoing preservation of its unique place in history, for generations present and future.
This year, the festivities return to the picturesque setting of Historic Delaware City, where the vibrant community will gather at Battery Park, located at the foot of Clinton Street. Here, attendees will be treated to a breathtaking view overlooking Fort Delaware and the majestic Delaware River, a site that has witnessed countless historic events since the town’s establishment in the early 19th century. Delaware City, a town that played a pivotal role during the Civil War as a protector of the Union, offers a rich tapestry of history that comes alive especially on this day, as we honor its enduring spirit and legacy.

- Vendors in Battery Park 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
- Children’s Area at Library 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Parade 1:00 pm (along Clinton Street from 5th Street to Battery Park)
- Boat Rides 1:00 – 4:00 pm
- Fireworks at dusk (approximately 7:30 pm)
Music at Battery Park (Gazebo)
- 2:15 pm The Old Crispy Minstrels
- 5:15 pm Raising Cain
